This is my Royal School of Needlework Future Tutor module in canvas stitches.

From a photo I took of a main street in the City

of London, it features the great financial

institutions: The Bank of England, Bank of Scotland, The Royal Exchange, Tower 42 among others.

Old and new buildings crowd the narrowstreet, with buses and Victorian lamp posts.

All presented a challenge in depicting differing architecture through stitched textures. Strong lines of perspective create dynamism, and an additional challenge when adhering to canvas

patterns.

The title puns the street name with the means used to depict it, including a nod to the ancient origins of this famous area of London.
