I am passionate about sharing what I've learned, and an easy way I can do that is by show and tell.
As you can see, I've created a mini photographic studio in my sewing room. The key was getting a tripod which holds the DSLR camera pointing straight down. Then I used two anglepoise lights each side, and taped an embroidery hoop to the floor to hold it steady.
In this way, I've been able to get overhead shots and movies of stitching, which I've edited into tutorials. I've got six so far: as a step-by-step slideshow with explanatory text , and a movie of each stitch.
