Exclusive design fabric-covered box
Sold out - check back for future dates
A stunning embroidery equipment box, based on a traditional Victorian tool box but with the appearance of a Tudor Manor House! Inspired by the Tutor’s ‘Speke Hall’ creative box, you will make this very useful tool box featuring exclusively-designed cotton prints of wattle-and-daub timber work. The decorative hinged roof opens to reveal two spacious compartments to store threads and fabric, with a smaller lift-out container for smaller items like thimbles and beads. The ingenious inner roof holds an integral pincushion plus cords to securely hold embroidery scissors, tweezers and more.
This project is suitable for intermediate and dexterous beginners to Box Making as your kit includes 31 pre-cut conservation boards. In addition, included are all the bespoke printed exterior, and plain interior cotton fabrics,. Also included are all the hinges, handles, handmade cord, ribbon, threads, tape etc you will need to complete this utterly charming, yet superbly practical project. In addition you will need your own small screwdriver, a fine bradawl, fabric scissors etc to accompany your work.
You may choose to line your Tudor Toolbox with your own silk or lawn cotton fabric – which is a fantastic way to personalise your box whether it be for yourself or as a wonderful gift for a loved one.
Finished box measures approx 160mm X 140mm X 135mm (at roof)
There will be plenty of opportunity during the class to ask the Tutor questions and in advance of the class all preparation information will be emailed to you along with an invitation to join the class on the day.
